Introducing Surfox

Who is it for?

SURFOX, the FAST, and SAFE solution for weld cleaning...

Stainless steel is used in a wide range of industries such as food & beverage, pharmaceutical, architectural and transportation, etc. SURFOX is the ideal solution to clean welds in these industries as it is safe (NSF certified) and does not alter the finish of the surfaces.

Why passivation?

Stainless steel is generally able to resist corrosion thanks to the formation of a passive, chromium-oxide layer that forms on its surface, called passivation.

Passivation occurs whenever the chromium contained in stainless steel comes in contact with oxygen from ambient air. The chemical reaction will form a passive chromium oxide layer, which will protect the stainless steel surface. In order to maximize thickness and uniformity of the chromium oxide.

Why is passivation important? Why is passivation important?

Cleaning & Polishing

In AC (alternating current) mode, SURFOX cleans the weld, removing the heat tint and restoring the original finish. In DC (Direct Current) mode, SURFOX will electropolish the weld, improving the finish.

Neutralization

To completely neutralize, first remove excess electrolyte solution from the parent material with a shop rag or paper towel. Then neutralize by spraying an alkaline cleaner such as UNO or FT 100 on the surface, and finally wipe the surface down with clean rag. If excess acid is not removed from the surface, neutralisation will result in the formation of salt residues on the surface of ther stainless steel.

Marking & Etching

Go ahead, make your mark! SURFOX marking kits use a fast and simple electrochemical process to permanently mark Stainless steel surfaces. The marking wand plugs directly into the SURFOX machine and is used with specially made permanent or disposable stencils.
